Does God Love Me?
The answer is of course, yes He does. Unless you are Pharaoh or Hitler.
So, yes He loves you. But very few people know what love is. If you love a thief as a thief, all you do is make him a bigger thief. If you love a spoiled brat by giving in to all her wants, you only make her more spoiled.
Women find out that when they love their man, what they often get is a bigger oaf. When a man's wife is unhappy, he responds with more appeasement and flowers and candy. He then scratches his head and can't figure out why she is even more frustrated with him.
Some people even become drop outs or criminals because they are rebelling against someone's phony or condescending love.
True love is more like what you got from the English teacher some of us were lucky enough to have had. She expected good performance and accepted no excuses. She was demanding, but her no nonsense approach helped you to improve. At the time you may have moaned and groaned about how mean she was, but years later you were grateful for the help she gave, that was actually kind in the long run.
If you want to experience God's redemptive and corrective love, then just be aware and watch for the delicate promptings of your conscience. Honor truth when you see it or hear it. Make what is right more important than who is right.
Be willing to admit in your heart that you are wrong if your conscience makes you aware of it. Let go of resentment and judgment toward others, especially those close to you.
God lives in the now present. Conscience--what you know wordlessly in your heart--is your closest link to God. You find God within, not in a building or a book. Let him who has ear, hear.
