KGO Changes Format - a Pastor's Perspective

I am sorry to hear that the station is going to a mostly all news format.
As my college age son commented: "It's hard to imagine how all news can be more interesting than lively discussion."
I am an independent thinker. Although, as a pastor, I tend to live conservatively, I appreciate that many liberal or progressive people, such as were found on KGO Radio, have a heart for the people.
And although I worked for corporations and taught management at universities for many years, I too have a heart for the people. I love the regular working man and woman, and so I have always enjoyed writers such as Studds Terkel or the San Francisco waterfront philosopher Eric Hoffer. They wrote about and philosophized about the regular working person.
I can't help that feel that the waitresses, waiters, cab drivers, bus drivers, shop clerks, and data entry people of the Bay Area will have less of a voice to be heard now that KGO radio has let go of some notable hosts.
To make a long story short, I am going to miss the lively conversation. And I am also going to miss Gene Burns, John Rothmann and Ray Taliaferro.
If I am not mistaken, I have listened to Ray Taliaferro for over 30 years.
So like so many other loyal listeners, I am sorry to see these old friends and familiar voices depart.
Goodbye, God speed, and Thanks for the memories!
